Insights into the mechanisms of action of anti-Abeta antibodies in Alzheimer's disease mouse models.
description:
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Bard et al. (2004) Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A 100(4):2023-8 [PMID: 12566568].
MAb40.1, specific for the C-terminal region of Aß 1-40, was used as the capture antibody in an ELISA to measure Aß levels and Aß/mAb9 complexes in the plasma of Tg2576 mice treated with epitope-specific mAb9. Mab40.1 was also used as the capture antibody to measure Aß levels in the brains and CSF of mAb9-treated Tg2576 mice. Mice dosed with mAb9 once or every week for 4 wk showed elevated Aß in plasma and CSF, but no significant change in Aß 1-40 levels in RIPA brain extracts.
