Insights into the mechanisms of action of anti-Abeta antibodies in Alzheimer's disease mouse models.
description:
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Bard et al. (2004) Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A 100(4):2023-8 [PMID: 12566568].
MAb42.2, specific for the C-terminal region of Aß 1-42, was used as the capture antibody in an ELISA to measure Aß42 levels in the brains and CSF of Tg2576 mice treated with epitope-specific mAb9. Mice dosed with mAb9 once or every week for 4 wks showed elevated Aß in plasma and CSF, but no significant change in Aß 1-42 levels in RIPA brain extracts. MAb42.2 was also used to measure Aß42 levels in plasma and brains of mAb9-treated BRI-Aß42B mice.
