name:
Use of recombinant chimeric antigens for the serodiagnosis of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.
description:
The epitope sequence was cited in Su et al. Infect Immun. 1987 Dec
55(12):3023-9 [PMID: 3119495].
Nine out of 39 patients with just suspected M. pneumoniae infection were positive. In addition, reactivity towards a GST fusion protein which contained the epitope and two additional peptides (P30 194-241 and MPN456 765-846 of M. pneumoniae) was also tested. Sera from 44 of the M.pneumoniae infected patients and 13 of the patients with suspected M. pneumoniae infection recognized this fusion protein.
