Immunohistochemical detection of sialyl Le(x) antigen on mucosal Langerhans cells of human oral mucosa following neuraminidase pretreatment.
|
| description: |
The epitope-specific mAb was able to stain human oral epithelium after neuraminidase digestion, suggesting that fucosylated type 2 chain (LeX) became detectable on the surface of Langerhans cells after the removal of terminal sialic acid from sugar residues by neuraminidase pretreatment. Localization and intensity of dendritic epithelial cells stained with the mAb were identical to those stained with anti-CD1a and HLA-DR antibodies.
