name:
Generation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies to the phenolic glycolipid of Mycobacterium leprae.
description:
The epitope is deduced.
The epitope-specific mAbs were shown to react with intact PGL-I and with PGL-I lacking one or two terminal sugars from the trisaccharide moiety, allowing for the epitope specificity determination. For some selected mAbs reacitvity is shown also in Western-blot and competitive ELISA.
