name:
A novel mechanism of retrovirus inactivation in human serum mediated by anti-alpha-galactosyl natural antibody.
description:
Epitope-specific antibodies purified from normal human sera are able to induce inactivation of the virus and to lead to complement-mediated lysis of MLV-producing cell line PA317. Down-regulation of the epitope expression on the cell line and, subsequently, on the retroviral particles lead to enhanced survival.
