The anti-sera neutralized HPV 16 positive cell lines at 20-days, but not at 10 days. While this anti-sera cross-reacted with HPV 31 and HPV 18 types, it did not with HPV 45. Western blot analysis revealed that a T66S substitution in the HPV 45 sequence was sufficient to alter the immunoreactivity.
