name:
Antigenicity and immunogenicity of phage library-selected peptide mimics of the major surface proteophosphoglycan antigens of Entamoeba histolytica.
description:
This peptide, along with others sharing the GTHPXL consensus motif, mimics the surface proteophosphoglycans (PPGs, a.k.a. lipophosphoglycan) of Entamoeba histolytica in its reactivity to an anti-PPG monoclonal antibody, EH5.
An E. histolytica membrane preparation which presumably contains proteophosphoglycans was used as the antigen in this assay. No reactivity was detected at day 49 after the primary immunization.
