description:	The epitope, along with other peptides with the consensus sequence QX[P/A]LX[I/L]I, was selected as a mimotope of the neutral polysaccharide fraction, mainly containing mannan and arabinomannan, of cell-wall antigens of M. tuberculosis. The IgG fraction of polyclonal anti-NPS antibodies selected this epitope out of a random phage-displayed peptide library.
