Antigenicity and immunogenicity of phage library-selected peptide mimics of the major surface proteophosphoglycan antigens of Entamoeba histolytica.
|
| description: |
This peptide, along with others sharing the GTHPXL consensus motif, mimics the surface proteophosphoglycans (PPGs, a.k.a. lipophosphoglycan) of Entamoeba histolytica in its reactivity to an anti-PPG monoclonal antibody, EH5.
The epitope-specific mAb, raised to E. histolytica membrane antigens and shown to react with the epitope-displaying phage particles in ELISA, is shown to react with E. histolytica trophozoites in immunofluorescence.
