Peptide mimics as surrogate immunogens of mosquito midgut carbohydrate malaria transmission blocking targets.
|
| description: |
This peptide mimics the glycan epitope recognized by the mAb MG96 in mosquito midgut. A screen of glycan array identified mannose-alpha(1&ndash
6) and N-acetyllactosamine glycans as principal components of the MG96 epitope but the complete oligosaccharide structure has not yet been confirmed.
The epitope as a fusion with the major bacterial flagellar protein (FliC) and thioredoxin (TrxA) was selected from a library of random peptides by the mAb MG96.
