Preincubation of serum from MS patients with the epitope inhibited serum binding to the epitope. The unglycosylated epitope or epitope with the following glycosyl moieties at Asn7 did not inhibit MS serum binding: galactose, mannose, N-acetylneuraminic acid and ribose.
