name:
Reactivity of chagasic antigal antibodies with noninfected cells treated with Trypanosoma cruzi secreted/excreted antigens.
description:
Authors use the epitope melibiose alpha-Gal-(1-6)-Glc as is is able to select anti-Gal epitope antibodies. The Gal epitope is found in internal antigens of epimastigote forms, as well as on surface antigens of trypomastigote and amastigote forms, of Trypanosoma cruzi.
The epitope inhibited the immunofluorescence reactivity of the antibodies with rhesus monkey LLC-MK2 cells (that do not express the epitope) pre-treated with purified T. cruzi secreted antigens.
