description:	The epitope-specific mAbs recognized the antigen on intact bacteria. Cells of the rfaD strain KDF29 were recognized by the epitope-specific mAb. The mAb 24 had the isotype G2a. The mAbs were also tested in colicin killing and siderophore uptake assays using E.coli BN1071 or CL29. MAb 24 inhibited killing by colicins B and D and the uptake of ferric enterobactin to E.coli CL29.
