The epitope is shared between HLA-E, HLA-B*8201 and other HLA-B and HLA-C alleles.
The epitope partially, but significantly, inhibited one donor's serum from binding to HLA-B*8201. The serum reacted with HLA-E, HLA-B*8201 and several other HLA-B and -C alleles. The epitope did not inhibit serum from another donor that recognized HLA-E and was monospecific for HLA-B*8201.
