name:
Characterization of blood group ABO(H)-active gangliosides in type AB erythrocytes and structural analysis of type A-active ganglioside variants in type A human erythrocytes.
description:
Liposome lysis assays were performed. The antiserum lysed liposomes carrying the epitope. A 10E2 to 10E3 fold difference in the reactivity to the antibodies between liposomes carrying the epitope and neutral A-active glycolipid molecule such as Aa was seen. Sialidase-treated S-A-I showed recovery of the reactivity to the anti-A antibodies compared to untreated S-A-I.
