The anti-epitope antisera bound to bands corresponding to Rh protein in a Western blot of RBC membranes. lmmunoadsorption experiments using inside out or right-side-out sealed vesicles from DccEE red blood cells as competing antigen showed that the anti-epitope antibodies bound mainly to the outside of the erythrocyte membrane. The anti-epitope antisera bound to immunoprecipitated RhD, Rhc and RhE proteins.
