The N-propylated alpha-2-8-sialic acid oligosaccharide is an analog of the acetylated species found as part of the capsular polysaccharide of N. meningiditis group B and of E. coli K1.
The mAbs obtained after immunization with the epitope were reactive with the (2-8)-NeuPr analog of the meningococcal polysaccharide. MAbs 10B9 and 7C11 are IgG1, mAb 11G1 is IgG2a, 1F1 is IgG2b and mAB 11F3 is IgG3.
