It is similar to a peptide previously selected as a mimotope of Group B streptococcal type III capsular polysaccharide (Pinkus et al, J. Immunol. 160:293 (1998) [PMID:9551983], except for the substitution of Ala to Tyr-Asp at the C-terminus. The epitope-specific mAb is shown to react with the artificial decassacharide (N-propionylated version of two repeating units of the Group B capsular polysaccharide) in NMR.
