The epitope-specific mAb stained longitudinal and cross-sections of hepatopancreas tissue from uninfected and infected Biomphalaria glabrata. The staining pattern suggested binding to both daughter sporocysts of S. mansoni and surrounding tissue, indicating the presence of shared carbohydrate epitopes.
