name:
Structural definition of a conserved neutralization epitope on HIV-1 gp120.
description:
The epitope residues are calculated from the PDB structures [PDB: PDB 2NXY, 2NXZ, 2NY0, 2NY1, 2NY2, 2NY3, 2NY4, 2NY5, 2NY6] as antigen residues at 4Å
distance from the antibody.
The epitope of Fab 17b on the gp120 core (K231C, T257S, E268C, S334A, S375W) complexed with CD4 was determined from the crystal structure of the complex. The gp120 core protein had Gly-Ala-Gly tri-peptide substitutions for the V1/V2 and V3 loop regions.
