| name: |
Immunodiagnostically applicable monoclonal antibodies to the circulating anodic antigen of Schistosoma mansoni bind to small, defined oligosaccharide epitopes.
|
| description: |
The epitope is part of the O-glycans of circulating anodic antigen (CAA), a proteoglycan with a strong negative charge at neutral pH, of S. mansoni.
The trichloroacetic acid treated adult worm antigen (AWA-TCA, which contains native CAA) competed with the epitope for the binding to the epitope-specific mAbs. The IC50 values were 3 ug/ml of AWA for mAb 27-2E2-A and 1.9 ug/ml for mAb 25-9B10-A.
