name:
Beta-glucan-CRM197 conjugates as candidates antifungal vaccines.
description:
The epitope is a representative structure of a fragment of laminarin, which is a polysaccharide composed of beta-(1&rarr
3)-linked glucose residues containing sporadic beta-(1&rarr
6)-linkages as branch points or inter-residue linkages and 2-3% D-mannitol at some reducing termini.
The epitope-specific antisera reacted strongly with beta-glucans such as laminarin and soluble beta-glucan extract of C. albicans GG-Zym (glucan ghosts–zymoliase), a beta-D-(1→6)-glucan with beta-D-(1→3)-side chains.
