name:
Mapping a region of hepatitis C virus E2 that is responsible for escape from neutralizing antibodies and a core CD81-binding region that does not tolerate neutralization escape mutations.
description:
The epitope-specific mAb bound HCV-2a-infected cells by IFA. Mutation of the epitopic residues resulted in loss of binding and revealed critical residues. Double mutations including L438 plus T435 and L438 and N434 also decreased activity.
