The affinity of epitope-specific antibody 4E10 for the 104-2 peptide was determined by SPR. Residue R7 of peptide 104-2 is an ornithine. The side chains of ornithine and cysteine at position 4 are covalently linked to form a cyclic peptide. The thioether bridge constrained the peptide to adopt an alpha-helical conformation.
