name:
Scorpion-toxin mimics of CD4 in complex with human immunodeficiency virus gp120 crystal structures, molecular mimicry, and neutralization breadth.
description:
Epitope residues are calculated from the structure [PDB: 1YYM] (same epitope is for [PDB: 1YYL]) as the antigen residues at 4 Å
distance from the antibody.
The epitope of Fab 17b on HIV-1 gp120 was determined from the crystal structure of the ternary complex of Fab17b bound to gp120 core in complex with CD4M33, a construct with CD4 residues transplanted onto a scorpion-toxin scaffold. The deglycosylated gp120 core protein studied had Gly-Ala-Gly tri-peptide substitutions for the V1/V2 and V3 loop regions. There are no direct CD4M33-Fab 17b contacts.
