name:
Antibody 2G12 recognizes di-mannose equivalently in domain- and nondomain-exchanged forms but only binds the HIV-1 glycan shield if domain exchanged.
description:
The epitope-specific 2G12 I19R variant antibody is only able to bind the gp120 when initially pre-complexed with an anti-Human-Fc antibody to enhance the avidity of the interaction. The monovalent Fab fragment did not show significant binding to gp120. A dissociation constant could not be estimated by surface plasmon resonance. The complexed or uncomplexed 2G12 I19R variant antibody did not neutralize the HIV-1 JR-FL or JR-CSF pseudovirus.
