Biotin sulfone tagged oligomannosides as immunogens for eliciting antibodies against specific mannan epitopes.
|
| description: |
This epitope is found in the mannan of S. cerevisiae and is found also in C. albicans under certain conditions of growth.
The epitope-specific antisera IgM reacted with mannan from C. albicans in ELISA. The reaction was lower with mannan extracted from cultures growth at pH 7. However when the mannan was extracted from C. albicans grown at pH 2, a condition known to induce a higher expression of the epitope, a higher reactivity of the mouse serum was observed.
