description:	The epitope, identical to mammalian Lewis x antigen, is present in O-chain of H. pylori LPS. The presence of the epitope on the surface of H. pylori isolates from Greek pediatric patients was determined by whole cell indirect ELISA with the epitope-specific antibody. Presence of the epitope was confirmed in 24 of the 50 isolates tested.
