description:	The epitope is the deaminated version (ELQETDAALQ) of the natural sequence ELQETNAALQ. The deamidation is predicted to occur naturally in the cartilage. The synthetic peptide includes an extra N-terminal cysteine residue. This mAb obtained after immunization with the epitope, was reactive to both the deaminated epitope and the natural Asn42-containing variant peptide.
