description:	The antigen-specific residues of the E2 protein were identified by site-directed mutation analyses. To characterize the role of cysteines in the D/A domains of E2, a series of alanine for cysteine substitutions were generated. Substitutions at residues 792, 818, 828, 856, 869, 877, 893, 896 and 930 of the E2 protein abrogated mAb binding.
