| description: |
The epitope recognized by mAbs 6A.A6 (IgG1) and 5B.H1 (IgG2a) was deduced based on analysis of overlapping nonapeptides. The mAbs bound to peptides spanning residues 44-57, and bound strongly to nonapeptides with the sequence PPNSDV. The mAbs bound much more weakly to peptides spanning residues 160-173 (FPICPSNSEANCCN). The author propose that the mAbs recognize a core motif sequence of P-P/S-N/H-S-D/E-V/A.
