The epitope specific E111 neutralized DENV1 16007 (genotype 2). E111 potently neutralized DENV1 genotypes 2 and 5, and poorly neutralized genotypes 1, 3 and 4. MAb E111 effectively neutralized DENV1 16007 when premixed with the virus before cell attachment or when added after virus attachment to the cell surface. The EC50 values for neutralization were similar at 37ºC or 40ºC over a period of 4.5 h, and only decreased after 22 h suggesting E111 epitopes become exposed for binding with time.
