Vaccination with a non-human random sequence amyloid oligomer mimic results in improved cognitive function and reduced plaque deposition and micro hemorrhage in Tg2576 mice.
|
| description: |
Vaccination with the epitope-oligomer improved cognitive function and reduced total plaque load (Abeta burden) in the Tg2576 mouse brains and was associated with a low incidence of micro hemorrhage. Vaccination with the epitope strongly reduces levels of Abeta40 and Abeta42 in brain and decreases anti CD45 reactivity. Activated astrocytes surrounding Abeta plaques are decreased in Tg2576 mice following vaccination.
