| name: |
Amino acid residue-specific neutralization and nonneutralization of hepatitis C virus by monoclonal antibodies to the E2 protein.
|
| description: |
From mice immunized with the fragment E2(412-447), 4 out of 7 mAbs were directed to the epitope, located at the N-terminus of the immunizing peptide. From random peptide library panning and alanine scanning, the residues required for binding were found to be W437 and L438 for the neutralizing mAbs #8 and #41, and W437, L438 and L441 for the non-neutralizing mAbs #12 and #50, and for the latter also residue F442 showed involvement.
