Immunization with a vaccine consisting of a dense array of the epitope on liposomes induced epitope-specific IgG responses totally independent of T-cell help. IgG2b and IgG3 are positive, IgG2a and IgG2c are low, and IgG1 is negative. Independency was confirmed in mice lacking T cells and in mice deficient for MHC class II, CD40L, and CD28. TLR4 and TRIF are required for the induction of the epitope-specific response.
