Low levels of IgM antibodies to oxidized cardiolipin increase and high levels decrease risk of cardiovascular disease among 60-year olds: a prospective study.
description:
The epitope inhibited the binding of sera to itself, to beta2GP1, but not to PC-BSA. Anti-epitope IgM was lower among CVD cases than controls (84.16 U/ml compared to 96.90 U/ml for men, and 99.06 U/ml compared to 96.75 for women). High levels of anti-epitope IgM were associated with decreased risk of cardiovascular diseases.
