description:	The epitope sequence was cited in Beernink et al. Infect Immun. 2008 Sep 76(9):4232-40. doi: 10.1128/IAI.00367-08 [PMID:18591239]. The epitope-specific mAb bound to recombinant fHbp sequence variants from variant group 1. The key epitopic residue was identified by binding to a yeast display library, and confirmed by site-directed mutagenesis. The epitope-specific mAb recognized subfamily B strains MC58, SK068, Mali 29/07, SK105, NZ98/254, Uganda 6/07, NM452, a synthesized strains ID2, and 0167/03 (subfamily A/B). The epitope-specific mAb JAR 3 had the isotype IgG3, and JAR 5 the isotype IgG2b.
