Crystal structure of alpha5beta1 integrin ectodomain: atomic details of the fibronectin receptor.
|
| description: |
The epitope is located on integrin beta-1. The epitope residues were calculated from [PDB: 3VI3] as the antigen residues at 4 Å
atomic distance from the antibody. The epitope calculated from [PDB: 3VI4] contained one additional residue, K87.
The epitope of SG/19 Fab on the headpiece fragment of alpha5ß1 integrin was determined from the crystal structure of the complex. The complex was crystallized in the presence of physiological concentrations of Mg2+ and Ca2+. Two alpha5beta1–Fab complexes contained in one crystallographic asymmetric unit were essentially identical. Therefore, only one complex discussed in the paper (chains A, B, E, and F) is curated here.
