IgE production to alpha-gal is accompanied by elevated levels of specific IgG1 antibodies and low amounts of IgE to blood group B.
|
| description: |
The IgG anti-epitope antibodies were found more frequently among B blood group negative than in B+ subjects, which were mostly negative, and in anti-epitope IgE+ compared to anti-epitope IgE- subjects. IgG1 is more frequently found in anti-epitope IgE+ subjects, while IgE– subjects have mainly IgG2 anti-epitope responses. The epitope competes with itself for binding by subject sera.
