name:
Atomic structure of a nanobody-trapped domain-swapped dimer of an amyloidogenic beta2-microglobulin variant.
description:
The epitope of nanobody Nb24 on DeltaN6 ß2m was determined from the crystal structure of the complex. The N-terminal 6 residues of ß2m are deleted in DeltaN6 ß2m. There are 4 molecules of DeltaN6 ß2m, but only three molecules of Nb24 (one is missed from the crystal) bound to three DeltaN6 ß2m molecules in the asymmetric unit. The structure of the domain-swapped dimer of ΔN6beta2m bound to a nanobody is curated. This domain-swapped dimer of ΔN6beta2m appears to be physiologically relevant rather than a crystallographic artifact.
