The epitope of JM4 VHH on the HIV gp120 core complexed with a CD4 mimetic miniprotein M48U1 was determined from the crystal structure of the complex, solved by molecular replacement. There are four complexes in the asymmetric unit. The gp120 core protein had deletions of the V1/V2 and V3 loop regions. JM4 did not interact with the CD4 mimetic M48U1.
