Heavy chain-only IgG2b llama antibody effects near-pan HIV-1 neutralization by recognizing a CD4-induced epitope that includes elements of coreceptor- and CD4-binding sites.
|
| description: |
The epitope-specific antibody JM4 VHH neutralized a broad range (60%) of HIV-1 isolates from different clades, using a panel of 30 HIV isolates. Conversion of JM4 VHH into an IgG2b or IgG3 format increased the neutralization breadth and potency. JM4-IgG2b neutralized 96% of a panel of 195 HIV-1 isolates. Glycosylation at residue Asn386 did not affect neutralization by JM4.
