name:
Focused evolution of HIV-1 neutralizing antibodies revealed by structures and deep sequencing.
description:
Epitope residue G124 is a residue that replaced the deleted V1/V2 loop in gp120 and so does not have a corresponding residue in the natural sequence.
The epitope of VRC-PG04 Fab on the HIV-1 gp120 core from recombinant clade A/E 93TH057 was determined from the crystal structure of the complex, solved by molecular replacement. The HIV-1 gp120 core contains truncations in the variable V1/V2 and V3 loops as well as the N- and C-termini.
