The epitope-specific mAb bound the epitope in complex with the HLA-DR molecule (ELISA and ICS). Moreover, the mAb was able to recognize the epitope expressed on Preiss cells. Recognition of the epitope/HLA-DR complexes was demonstrated in vitro, as well as ex vivo on GAD-transfected cells.
