name:
Structural and pharmacological characterization of novel potent and selective monoclonal antibody antagonists of glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor.
description:
Epitope residues were calculated from [PDB: 4HJO] as the antigen residues at 4 Å
atomic distance from the antibody.
The epitope-specific antibody Gipg013 cross-reacts with the rat GIP receptor and inhibits its function. Inhibition was demonstrated by Gipg013 antagonism of GIP-stimulated cAMP production in GIPr-overexpressing HEK293 cells; IC50 = 19 nM. Antibody Gipg013 also inhibited the GIP-enhanced glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in isolated rat pancreatic islet cells.
