name:
Epitope Mapping of Antibodies to Alpha-Synuclein in LRRK2 Mutation Carriers, Idiopathic Parkinson Disease Patients, and Healthy Controls.
description:
The epitope sequence was cited in Alvarez-Castelao et al. Biochim Biophys Acta. 2014 Feb
1843(2):352-65. doi: 10.1016/j.bbamcr.2013.11.018 [PMID:24315858].
The epitope sequence was deduced by study of overlapping peptides. All of the subjects of the positive plasma contained an R14441G mutation in alpha-synuclein. Three of the plasma from healthy controls were also positive. N122 was identified as a critical amino acid for recognition by the antibodies.
