The crystal structure of Fab BL3-6 in complex with the RNA 84-nucleotide aptamer Spinach was determined by molecular replacement. The wild type stem-loop (UUCG) of the Spinach aptamer was replaced with a pentaloop hairpin graft (GAAACAC; residues 37-43) from the class I ligase ribozyme to create a binding site for Fab BL3-6 to be used as a crystallization chaperone.
