Hard wiring of T cell receptor specificity for the major histocompatibility complex is underpinned by TCR adaptability.
description:
The binding of the epitope-specific LC13 TCR to the HLA-B*0801/epitope complex was not affected by B*0801 alpha chain single mutation Q65A, but was reduced 2- to 10-fold by mutations Q155A and T69A, respectively. Binding was abolished by the triple mutation. These residues were shown previously to form contacts with the TCR in the crystal structure.
